I am writing to than you for turning out such a beautiful project. Several Months ago I ordered a Mini-14 (choate camo tock SS L. Walther barrel 20” 1x10 twist) through Bears’s Den. I received the rifle a couple of weeks ago. Now, I wasn’t really set up to test the rifle but wanted to shoot it. So I plopped a cheap $60.00 Tasco 3x9x40mm scope on it and went to the Lake City Range here in MO. I had a cheap Hoppe’s bench rest, sand bags that kept squirming around under my arm, of the shelf ammo and I hadn’t fired a rifle in exactly one year. Now with all these things against me I figured I’d shoot at 50 meters. You know what? I followed your break in instructions and under the conditions I described and with a cheap scope (no bore sighter either) I had consistent 5 shot groups that could be covered easily with a dime. Again this was at 50 meters with a cheap scope. Some of the groups measured less than 1/8 inch. Now with a Nikon scope, practice and so forth I have no doubt this rifle that you crafted will achieve half-inch (.5”) groups a 100 yards and better!!! Workmanship ship is great and the accuracy is out of this world!!! You can count on me sending my Mini-30 next year and as many customers who are interested. Let me know how I can help you. I have a ARS Mini-14 w/a 21” 14:1 stainless Lothar Walther barrel shooting .5-.75” groups w/40gr. & 45 gr. loads. (it probably would shoot sub .5” with a better marksman/load development.

I had my mini-14 rebarreled in 1997 I believe and let me tell you these guys know what they are doing. My son just came back from the range and shot groups of less than 1/8 of an inch @ 100 yards! You could literally cover all the holes with a dine. Many were planted one on top of the other. These guys make a great product and would recommend them to anybody.

I have a 1x10 rate of twist Walther match grade barrel installed on my Mini-14 along with a match chamber barrel sleeve and metal bedding, H&K style front sight/FH and trigger job. I had the durable matte finish put on the rifle and magazines. The performance of this Mini-14 rifle never fails to surprise me. Currently I’m testing is against my Colt Match Target HBAR at 100, 200, and 300 yards with a variety of loads. So far the Mini-14 is winning.

Glad to find you on the web. For everyone else this outfit is one of the most reputable and high quality gunsmithing outfits out these. Had my Mini done back in 97 and rebarreled to 6x45mm in the process. Wished I’d done it sooner. Don’t accept any imitations. ARS was doing mini accurizing YEARS before Clark and the others would give a Mini the time of day.

The new barrel and stock bedding definitely helped the accuracy on my rifle. The only problem now is the trigger, which I’m sending to ARS to have upgraded. The service was performed on schedule for the agreed price.

Thanks for the great conversion work on my mini-14. It shoots ¼” threes shot groups! Best load to date is 27.5 H335 w/40 gr. ballistic tip bullets. I’ve taken 10 or so coyotes this winter with it including one @ 480 yards. I feel under gunned with any other my bolt actions no matter what caliber. I am considering having you build a couple more guns fore me in 17 and 24 calibers. I gave your brochure to a friend and I am sure he will be contacting you. Enclosed are pictures showing my Mini-14 at home on the range. One of the coyotes was a 480 yard kill. GREAT GUN GREAT WORK”

“I told a gunsmith friend of mine yesterday I was going to have make on a Mini-30 action. He said boy what you need is a 6mm bolt action then you will have something that will shoot. We got out the irons he cut a .375” group with his BR sportier. His eyes bugged out when my ARS H-BR Min-14 shot a .395 with factory ammo. He did not have much to say afterward and did not want to shoot any more. Keep up the great work!”

“I thought that you might like to know how the last rifle is shooting that you had done for me early this year. I am enclosing the original target because the copy machine did not shot the shots very well. To refresh you on the rifle you put a LW barrel cut down to .720” dia. and 24” long and a match trigger with the action bedded, The load was in midway once fired brass with Rem 7-½ primer and 25.5 gr. WW 748 and Hornandy 55 gr, V-max. This gave an average velocity of 3096 FPS. Where I shoot I cannot fire through the chronograph at the target so I fire 3 at the target and 3 through the chronograph. One of these day I will get set up to do both at the same time. I know from being in business you always hear the complaints but don’t always hear the good things that happen. Thanks for another good job.”

About a year ago you installed one of your brakes and bedded my rifle. ……..It shoots very well with ½” groups @ 100 yards. It is amazingly accurate and I have absolutely no complaints.
